50th International Thessaloniki Film Festival |

Taking into account the dramatic climate changes with which are planet is faced and the serious crisis that will follow, the Thessaloniki International Film Festival has decided to assume its share of responsibility. While most environmental initiatives nowadays seem to want to train a public that is already aware, given the grave state of our planet, our own aim is to instill in our public a collective creativity, wisdom and intelligence in order to co-produce a 50th Festival next year that will attest to the positive change our collective strength can bring about. The Festival's ultimate goal is to inaugurate the Festival's 50th anniversary edition in 2009 by showing its own "green road," a green road that the Festival will have co-created with its public, by assuming the responsibility for its own environmental footprint, by reducing its emissions and by wishing to inspire and encourage its public to do the same.
